Oil rises $1 on supply concerns

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Oil rose more than $1 a barrel on Wednesday, within sight of Monday’s record high above $143 on forecasts that global supply will lag demand and expectations the European Central Bank will raise interest rates later this week.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A federal judge in Miami has authorized U.S. officials to seek information from UBS AG about U.S. taxpayers suspected of using Swiss bank accounts to evade income taxes, part of a probe that could crack open Switzerland’s tradition of bank secrecy.
